Community Service Project Team Leaders Needed
#1. Teen volunteers needed to collect and organize character bandages to benefit Howard University Hospital Pediatric Unit. Help bring smiles to children by collecting new, unopened packages of character bandages, strips, and dots. Spongebob, Dora the Explorer, Super Friends, and More.
#2. Teen volunteers also needed to collect and organize school supplies for ten (10) children of Air Force soldiers actively deployed overseas.

Walt Disney World College Program
Disney Career Start Program is a structured living, learning, and earning program for high school graduates who may be unsure of their future path and looking for a new experience that will provide them more than just a job. They live in a secure, multicultural environment while receiving training as a cast member at the Walt Disney World Resort. The EDU Inc Common Black College Application
The EDU, Inc. has developed a partnership with many of the historically Black colleges and universities in the nation. Through this partnership, they have created a College Admission Application that allows students to apply to 34 black colleges at the same time for only $35.00. www.eduinconline.com
The Do Something Award
The Do Something Award (formerly the BRICK Awards) honor exceptional young leaders who have measurably changed the world for the better. We identify young activists and social entrepreneurs who are pivotal "do-ers" in their cause, issue, or field and empower their work through community grants. knowledge, and support.
Kids For Peace Scholarship
The Kids For Peace is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities for young Marylanders wishing to study or do community service abroad. the amounts of the scholarships vary depending on the selected program but the amount is between $250-$500.00. Offered to legal Maryland residents between the ages of 14 and 18. Students must be applying to a study abroad program that is licensed and reflective of the goals of Kids For Peace. Applications should be received by the Kids For Peace by 5:00pm on the application deadlines of November 1st and April 1st of each year. Andre Gist Memorial Foundation Scholarship
Andre Gist Memorial Foundation established in 2003 to honor the memory of Andre Gist who died tragically in an auto accident in 1983. Andre's winning spirit lives on through the shared memories of his family, friends, and through the establishment of the Andre Gist Memorial Foundation Scholarship. The amount of the scholarship award per student for four years is a total of $8,000. All high school seniors who have been accepted to a Historically Black College and University are eligible to apply. To apply, please contact:

Jacqueline Harrison Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in 2009, is a tribute to the memory of Jacqueline Harrison. As a general guideline, this scholarship is given to students whose parents were victims of a violent crime. Distributions are awarded annually to financially assist qualified applicants in obtaining degrees from accredited academic institutions of higher learning. The program is open to any student preparing to enter or already attending an accredited degree-granting college or university and pursuing a bachelor's degree. The scholarships are awarded based on merit as measured by academic performance and community involvement. Youth of the Yearaward sponsored by the Reader's Digest Foundation, the National Youth of the Year Program is designed to promote and recognize service to Club and community, academic performance and contributions to family and spiritual life Competition begins with each Club selecting a Youth of the Year who receives a certificate and medallion then enters state competition. State winners receive a plaque and a $1,000 scholarship then enter the regional competition. Each of the five regional winners receives a $10,000 scholarship and enters the national competition held in Washington, DC. The National Youth of the Year receives an additional $15,0000 scholarship, totaling $26,000 in scholarships, and is installed by the President of the United States.
City Year, Washington, DC (Americorps)
Graduating seniors who are not sure what they want to do after high school may apply for a paid community service position with City Year, Washington, DC, a group of 17-24 year olds committed to full-time service for ten months in the Washington, DC community. Benefits include: living stipend ($200 per week), health care coverage, free metro pass, and a $4,725 educational scholarship. Call Amanda Seligman at 202-776-7780. The Teen Toolbox, LLC, "SPOTLIGHT Teen of the Month" feature recognizes a teenager who is making a positive impact on their home, school, and community. Feel free to nominate middle and high school teenagers ages 13-19 for this honor. Completed nominations include name, current grade, county/state residing in, special activities/talents/abilities, hobbies & interests, awards, activities & projects, personal philosophy, goals & aspirations, and photo.
